Focusing High Temperature Solar-collector

Solar-etc’s solar collector can collected solar heat at about 1500 through focusing mirror. However, the efficiency of this solar collector is far low than theoretical prediction. To analyze the problem of solar collector, we used infrared thermal imager to detect the temperature at focus point of solar collector with different types of focusing mirror. Some examples of the temperature at focus point are shown in Figure.

Through temperature and energy analysis, we found two problems: 1. the focusing mirror which was using in Solar-etc’s solar collector did not have the highest efficiency; 2. the type of heat loss is radiant heat loss which needs special materials to achieve great heat preservation.

Through this experience, I am skilled in infrared thermal imager.
